Welcome to the website of the Scottsdale Corral of the Westerners!
The Scottsdale Corral of the Westerners is a group of western history enthusiasts who meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month for a dinner, book raffle, and short presentation on western history or culture. The dinner meetings are held at SRP's PERA Club near the Arizona Historical Society Museum at Papago Park (Click here for map). Non-members are highly welcome (but please make reservations).

A different Western history presentation

Our speaker for November is our own Charles “Charlie” Madigan. His presentation this month will be about "Owney" (A very famous type 'Guy' in the Smithsonian)....The most expensive ballot ever in U. S. history....And a group of famous Western people / things in American history that you learn about by spending just a few cents. If you miss this presentation you will not know why a department of the U. S. government really goofed....Also some Western history that may have been "Overlooked" by some historians.....All of this and more!! Maybe "Thanksgiving" will be in the presentation! ..... You can only find out by being at the Scottsdale Westerners meeting on November 19, 2008....Charlie promises it will be a different Western history presentation then most of us have experimented with…… And it is legal!!

Please make reservations with Duff McGovern (480) 595-8605 fax (480) 595-8605 (when calling Duff, let it ring at least 8 times, machine picks up after 8 rings) or email Duff McGovern no later than noon on the Thursday before the meeting or send E-Mail to Charles Madigan. Cost: $17 per person.
